I have had the great fortune of visiting the beautiful island of Taiwan several times in conjunction with my work at the University. I wrote this poem in staccato style to remember the many new experiences that came at me in rapid fire fashion on the way home after my first trip.

This poem was written for and about Stan Smith, my friend since high school. He is a talented jazz guitarist, composer and professor at Capital University. I have had the blessing of musical touch points with Stan over the years. He has steadfastly and courageously pursued his passion for music, and “six strings define the man.”
