Linda’s Poem April 21, 2016 / Words / No Comments There were lilies on the mountain, There was coral in the sea, And every kind of creature Made a home in yonder tree. But the flowers have been taken, And the ocean floor is clean. The life that filled the forest, Strangely silent; none is seen. So we pause to share our sorrow, As we fear what is to be. Yet we hope that by the morrow All regrets have been set free. But the lily on the mountain And the coral in the sea, All that lives within the forest Sheds a tear like you and me. Linda’s Poem
There were lilies on the mountain,
There was coral in the sea,
And every kind of creature
Made a home in yonder tree.
But the flowers have been taken,
And the ocean floor is clean.
The life that filled the forest,
Strangely silent; none is seen.
So we pause to share our sorrow,
As we fear what is to be.
Yet we hope that by the morrow
All regrets have been set free.
But the lily on the mountain
And the coral in the sea,
All that lives within the forest
Sheds a tear like you and me.
