On the Morrow August 8, 2019 / Words / No Comments There’s a voice in higher places Striking dark and hateful chords, And the people gathered ‘round him Shout the words. There are many silent others Hoping kindness will prevail, But the chanting’s growing louder All the while. In the morning we will face you. On the morrow we will stand. In the future we shall stop you, As today we wring our hands. Hear the voice that’s deep within you Making sounds of truth and hope. Let the people know that love Will make us whole. On the Morrow
There’s a voice in higher places
Striking dark and hateful chords,
And the people gathered ‘round him
Shout the words.
There are many silent others
Hoping kindness will prevail,
But the chanting’s growing louder
All the while.
In the morning we will face you.
On the morrow we will stand.
In the future we shall stop you,
As today we wring our hands.
Hear the voice that’s deep within you
Making sounds of truth and hope.
Let the people know that love
Will make us whole.
